Our Founder

The vision behind Petro Services Ltd

Eng. H.M. Mulongo

Founder & Managing Director

Petro Services Ltd is a family‑run petroleum equipment and general engineering company, recognized as the pioneer in petroleum equipment supply, installation, and maintenance services in Uganda.

The company was established in 1992 by Engineer Halid Mwima Mulongo, a distinguished mechanical engineer with more than 25 years of service at Shell Uganda Limited. During his career, Mr. Mulongo held several senior positions, including Aviation Manager at Shell & BP Uganda Limited, and later Head of the Petroleum Equipment Maintenance and Installation Engineering Department at Shell Uganda.

In 1992, when Shell Uganda decided to outsource its petroleum equipment maintenance and repair operations, Mr. Mulongo seized the opportunity to apply his expertise and leadership to a new venture. He retired from Shell and founded Petro Services Ltd (PSL), which was immediately contracted to manage Shell Uganda’s equipment maintenance and installations across the country.

From its inception, PSL set the benchmark for petroleum equipment maintenance and repair in Uganda, combining technical excellence with a commitment to safety and reliability. Today, the company continues to build on this legacy, serving as a trusted partner in the petroleum and engineering sectors.

"Our success comes from treating every project as if it were our own station. Quality, safety, and reliability aren't just promises - they're our company culture."
